Holy Week began with worship on Palm Sunday celebrating Christ's entry into Jerusalem.
Following the children's time, the children shared in the decorating of eggs and then an Easter Egg Hunt.  After worship and decorating, the church family gathered for Brunch.

Each day of Holy Week, you are invited to join us from noon to one for a soup and bread lunch followed by a devotion explaining what happened that day during Holy Week.

On Maundy Thursday, we will share in  a covered dish dinner at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall followed by Worship and Holy Communion in the Sanctuary at 7 pm.

And Easter Sunday April 21 at 11 am we will gather in the Sanctuary to
Celebrate Resurrection Day
As the famous hymn says:
We serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today
We know that He is living, whatever men may say
We see His hand of mercy, we hear His voice of cheer
And just the time we need Him He's always near
He lives, (He lives,) He lives (He lives,) Christ Jesus

White Cross Celebrates 100 Years
For generations, American Baptists’ “helping hands” have been reaching out to people in need. During World War I, women in the church assisted the American Red Cross by providing surgical dressings, bandages and other medical supplies for U.S. service personnel. In 1919, following the end of the war, two American Baptist women from Cleveland, Ohio, organized the White Cross Service League, “channeling the war effort into support for Baptist mission.”
Through the years, American Baptist women have provided leadership to this ministry. Men, youth, children and entire church congregations have embraced White Cross. WORKING WITH YOUR HANDS FOR WHITE CROSS
There are many opportunities to use our hands for God.  First United has been making roller bandages for hospitals in the Congo for many years - you could say it's one of our traditions.  Long strips torn from old sheets are sewn together and then rolled either by hand or by Ben's Wonderful Rolling Machine.   Close to 100 bandages  will be delivered to the Brethren Center in Maryland for shipment to the Congo.

PRAY  For International Ministries [IM] global servants and partners.  For medical needs to be met and the sick to receive care regardless of their means.

Hands On Ministries
has recently completely more than 35 pillowcases for Griffin's Guardians and Golizano Children's Hospital in Syracuse.  They have been dedicated and will soon be delivered.  Every time a child goes into the hospital they choose their very own pillowcase.  This is a project that we work on throughout the year.  We meet one day a month - date changes so call the church and get the latest update.  If you would like to purchase material for this project, we need child friendly prints of cotton fabric (not flannel) 3/4 of a yard for the big part of the pillowcase and 1/3 yard for the border -

Our next book for study is Rebel Puritan by Joann Butler.   JOANN has accepted our invitation to join us to discuss her book on Monday, April 29 at 1p.m.  Copies of JOANN’s book can be purchased or borrowed at the Fulton Public Library.   How neat that the author is right here in our midst!

The May book choice is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  This was voted to be the number one “favorite of all time” book in the 100 Most Popular books chosen in a survey done last fall by the PBS News Hour in consort with New York Times.  Please note that due to the Memorial Day holiday long weekend, the meeting date has been changed to Wednesday, May 29, at 1 p.m.

A murder mystery is on the schedule for June with Author Louise Penny’s first book Still Life.    If one likes it, Penny has written several more mystery novels following lead characters introduced in this, Penny’s first book.  It is back to last Monday for June for Still Life and that will be Monday, June 24 at 1 p.m.
